[Blog #9] web 2.0???

There was a web 1.0, and now it becomes web 2.0. Does internet change? The answer is no. Internet itself didn’t change a lot, but the ways to internet changes. Web 2.0 has definition from wikipedia. It basically means use internet as platform so the users can get the real time update information from it. However, the definition for Web 2.0 is various. When you ask different people for the definition, the answer come out differently. From customers’ point of view, it is just another name that marketer try to push to customers. Here is an interesting video about web2.0.

As matter in fact, it is sure that web 2.0 is new way to use internet. It includes lots elements such as RSS (Really Simple Syndication). When website designer put RSS into his/her page, it would link to updated information from the original website. By doing this, viewers don’t need to go News website to check on updated news. They can easily read the RSS and get the most updated news.

YouTube is another example of web 2.0. Users use YouTube as platform to share any videos or clips. Other users can choose to view it or not. The website itself becomes a community. Users use the site to exchange feedback and information.

The most important factor YouTube can success is the ability to gather users together and share whatever they want to share. The activities that users do within web 1.0 website are one-way actions. Unlike web2.0 website can grow like spider web.

Blog is another excellent example of web2.0. For example, when someone thinks my content is interesting, he/she would probably leave some feedback and send this to his/her friend and so on. Even thought the content may not be truth, it still gets people to discuss it.

Finally, What Is Web 2.0 is a theory from Tim O’Reilly. This includes some basic ideas of web 2.0.
